New Octavia Scout

ŠKODA will unveil the new Octavia Scout at this year’s Geneva Motor Show, in addition to the exciting VisionC five-door coupé.

Like its predecessor, the new Octavia Scout will have strong-looking mouldings to protect bodywork on all sides, but the new model promises more power and traction, better economy and innovative all-wheel drive technology.

The front features a wide air intake and sharply-embossed fog lights. Door sills and wheel arches have black panelling in addition to the black protective side mouldings. Ground clearance is 33mm

higher compared to the standard Octavia. Inside, the car has a three-spoke, multi-function leather steering wheel and attractive features designed specifically for the Scout.

“The new Octavia Scout is a smart off-roader in every way – a name that has to be earned at ŠKODA,” says Dr Frank Welsch, ŠKODA Member of the Board of Management for Technical Development. “It offers customers a unique package, comprising a striking off-road look, impressive all-wheel characteristics, plenty of space and modern safety, comfort and engine technologies. The new Octavia Scout sets new standards in the crossover-vehicle segment.”

New Skoda Octavia-Best Family Car 2014

The ŠKODA Octavia has scooped one of the biggest honours in the motoring industry, taking the Best Family Car title in the 2014 What Car? Awards.

The third-generation Octavia beat off strong competition to take an impressive overall victory. In addition, Citigo was commended in the City Car section.

The What Car? judging panel, chose the 1.2 TSI 105PS SE model as its pick of the range, praising its all-round ability and superb value for money. The judges also highlighted the new Octavia’s high quality interior, generous equipment levels and exceptional practicality, praising the car’s class-leading 590-litre boot and rear seat space.

Skoda win FHM Car of the Year 2013 awards

Derek Slack Motors are delighted to announce the new Skoda Octavia vRS has bagged ‘Everyday Car of the Year 2013′ title in the FHM 2013 Car Awards. The annual motoring accolades are bestowed by the influential men’s lifestyle magazine who recognizes some of the aspirational vehicles for their readers.

The third generation Skoda Octavia vRS hatch caught the eye of the judging panel due to its appealing combination of power and practicality. As per the panel, “the two litre fuel efficient engine and sporty design, which is combined with the added element of versatility, makes the high performance model ideal for city driving or longer journeys.” The Octavia vRS is the fastest road-going saloon ever produced by Škoda. It is capable of reaching 62 mph in just 6.8 seconds from a standing start and has a top speed of 154 mph.
