Superb Estate wins 2014 Towcar of the Year award

Derek Slack Motors are pleased to announce the Superb Estate has won the 2014 Towcar of the Year award as voted for by The Caravan Club. The Elegance 2.0 TDI 170PS 4x4 DSG topped both the £25,000-£31,000 and all-terrain under 1,800kg categories. The vast-yet-capable estate was singled out for its impressive all-round ability, as the judges’ comments explain: “With a loading limit of 100kg on the roof, 80kg on the towball and a boot that scored maximum marks, it’s a very tough act to follow. You wouldn’t know you were towing a caravan!” The new Octavia was also a category winner with the 1.2 TSI 105PS SE hatch. It came first in the £16,000-£20,000 class, with the judges being particularly impressed by the engine’s performance. This year’s nine-strong judging panel included caravan and motoring journalists, as well as members of the Caravan Club.
